Lewis Barfoot releases her buoyantly jubilant summer single Tongan Town. Written to celebrate her experience of living in Tonga at the age of eighteen when Lewis spent eleven months volunteering in the Queen Salote College in Nuku’Alofa, The capital of Tonga.

This is Lewis’ third single following the release of her debut album Glenaphuca in March 2021 which received widespread acclaim and support from Folk press, BBC Radio and RTÉ1. Tongan Town perfectly represents Lewis’s effortless ability to compose in response to nature, environment and how that impacts her personal experience and here she captures the lazy beat of the Tongan heat. An arrestingly good vocalist and songwriter Lewis is frequently compared to the likes of Kate Rusby, Ane Brun and Lisa Hannigan.

Tongan Town was written and produced by Lewis. Recorded by Giles Barrett at Lightship 95 in London. Mastered by Pete Maher. With the late Matt Dibble on Clarinet and Elisabeth Flett on Fiddle and Ukulele.
